The best leaders can learn together and work together.  LeaderLink gives Grand Valley students, faculty, and staff a forum to do both.  Take a look at several of the opportunities for the 2009-2010 academic year:


Book Club   Cinema Series   Service Club

Description
: Each semester, Leader Readers focus on a single book laden with leadership lessons.  They receive a copy of the book from the Hauenstein Center at a discounted price and meet once a month over coffee for an ongoing discussion.  In fall 2009, Leader Readers will study Michael Roberto's Know What You Don't Know: How Great Leaders Prevent Problems Before They Happen.
    Description: Each month, a Cinema Seminarians watch a different feature film and discuss leadership lessons over popcorn.  Films include Defiance (2008), Gran Torino (2008), Night at the Museum (2006), The Alamo (2004), Remember the Titans (2000), Erin Brockovich (2000), Mr. Holland's Opus (1995), Dead Poets Society (1989), Norma Rae (1979).     Description: Periodically, Service Club members collaborate on a community service project.  Community beneficiaries include Bethany Christian Services, Deanna's Playhouse, Grand Rapids Public Schools, Grand Rapids YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, Mel Trotter Ministries, Second Harvest Gleaners Food Bank, We the People.
